1. Who operates iNeed
iNeed is an online enquiry marketplace operated by a sole trader using the trading name iNeed. iNeed is currently based in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom.
For data protection purposes, the operator of iNeed decides how and why personal information is used for the service. The operator details above are the details currently supplied for this notice. The full legal name of the sole trader and a complete geographic business address should be added when finalised.
2. Information we collect
When you submit an enquiry
We may collect the requirement you describe, your chosen area or outward postcode, telephone number, email address, preferred contact method, optional image or PDF attachment, verification status, submission timestamps and information needed to manage, continue, stop or delete the listing.
When you browse or purchase an enquiry
We process account and sign-in information, email address, account identifiers, enquiries searched or purchased, purchase status and timestamps. For a paid purchase, Stripe may process payment, billing-address and contact details. iNeed receives transaction-related information needed to confirm and administer the purchase; card details are handled by the payment provider rather than being intentionally stored by iNeed.
Email alerts
If you request email alerts, we collect the email address, chosen keywords, area/distance filters, frequency, consent choice and related timestamps, source and subscription status. We retain records of consent and withdrawal to demonstrate and respect your choices.
Verification and technical information
We process email and UK mobile verification requests, verification results and the records needed to protect the service. Service providers may process technical logs and security signals as part of delivering, diagnosing and securing the website.
3. How and why we use information
- Submit and manage enquiries: create a listing, verify contact channels, deliver service messages and allow you to continue or stop an enquiry.
- Provide the marketplace: let buyers search listings, process purchases and provide the details or attachment access they have purchased.
- Operate accounts: sign users in, link a verified user to the correct iNeed account and show their own enquiries, purchases and alerts.
- Protect the service: prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate purchases, unauthorised access and misuse of personal information.
- Provide requested alerts: send relevant enquiry summaries only where the required email-alert consent has been recorded.
- Meet obligations: keep appropriate transaction, complaint, security and legal records and respond to lawful requests.
4. Our lawful bases
Depending on the processing activity and your relationship with iNeed, we rely on one or more of these lawful bases under UK data protection law:
- Contract or steps requested before a contract: to process an enquiry, create or manage an account, provide purchased access and operate requested account features.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the website, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain service records, resolve disputes and protect users. We consider the impact on individuals and their rights.
- Legal obligation: to keep or disclose records where applicable law requires it.
- Consent: to send optional relevant enquiry email alerts or marketing messages where consent is required. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Where we rely on consent, withdrawing it does not make processing that took place before withdrawal unlawful. We do not treat purchasing an enquiry as consent to future marketing.
6. Email alerts and marketing
Optional email alerts are not required to submit or purchase an enquiry. We activate them only when you make the required choices and the service records your consent. Alerts are intended to match the keywords, areas and frequency you choose.
You can unsubscribe using the link provided in an alert email or manage your alerts through your iNeed account. Operational emails—such as verification codes, account notices, purchase confirmations and essential service messages—may still be sent when needed to provide the service, even if you unsubscribe from marketing alerts.
We do not sell email lists. We do not use an optional marketing consent as permission to send SMS marketing.
7. Security and international processing
We use technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal information, including account authentication, verification controls, access restrictions and restricted access to purchased contact details and attachments. No internet service can guarantee absolute security; please contact us promptly if you believe your account or information has been misused.
Our service providers may process data in the UK and other countries. Where a transfer is subject to UK data protection transfer rules, the operator should ensure an applicable lawful transfer mechanism and safeguards are in place. You can contact us for further information about relevant safeguards.
8. How long we keep information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes explained in this notice. The period depends on the type of information and why it is needed. For example:
- Enquiry details are retained while needed to operate the listing, fulfil purchases, manage complaints and maintain appropriate records.
- Purchase and payment-related records may be retained for accounting, dispute, fraud-prevention and legal purposes.
- Account and security records are retained for as long as needed to operate and protect the service and address legitimate claims.
- Marketing consent and unsubscribe records are retained as needed to honour preferences and demonstrate compliance.
We periodically review retained information and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed, unless law or a legitimate need requires retention.
Stopping or deleting an enquiry
The Stop & Delete feature is intended to remove an enquiry from active listings. It does not necessarily immediately erase all underlying records, purchase history, security records or information that was already disclosed to a buyer. You may separately contact us to exercise applicable data protection rights.
9. Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it. These rights are subject to conditions and legal exceptions.
To make a request, email info@yesineed.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within the period required by law.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are concerned about how your information is handled: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
11. Children
iNeed is designed for people using the service to submit genuine service enquiries or to purchase access to those enquiries. It is not intended for children to use independently. Please do not submit personal information about another person unless you have the authority and lawful basis to do so.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if the service, law or way we process personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Significant changes will be communicated where required.
